TAKING
YOUR OWN TEAM PHOTOS FOR YOUR
CineMagic
Sportsline POSTER... |
 |
|
When
taking your own photographs for your CineMagic
Sportsline Poster, there are a few certain guidleines
you want to follow to ensure your poster looks perfect.

(email us here) |
|
Rule #1:
The
better the photograph, the better your CSL Poster. Consider
finding a photographer within the league to help you
with your team and individual photos. If you can't find
a photographer within your league, consider asking one
to sponsor your team by shooting your team photo. Let
them know that their name will be in the movie poster
credits. Or contact your local college photography club.
They are always looking for new and fun projects. |
|
Rule #2:
Be
sure to take your photos outside, on a semi-sunny day,
usually an hour or so before sundown. You don't want the
sun beating down overhead, that creates unwanted shadows
from their ball caps and/or helmets. You want the
sun low enough to be shining at face level. If you have
to shoot on a sunny day, find a shady spot, under
a tree etc. Take the photo near the edge of the shade
line. You don't want the sun directly on their face, nor
do you want their faces in the shadows. Try using your
flash when they are in the shade. |
|
Rule #3:
GET
CLOSE!!!
This is
important. Be sure to fill your frame with the entire
team. Don't worry about backgrounds as we will deal with
them ourselves. The closer you get, the finer the detail
of the photo. Consider taking the left half of the team
first and get real close, and then the right side of the
team. |
|
Rule #4:
Don't let them look too posed!!! Get several poses, but
don't let them stand there expressionless. Have them
give a "We are number one!" pose with their fingers in
the air. Or cross their arms back to back. Have
them yell at the top of their lungs. This really brings
out their personality. One important
thing to remember, tell the kids, if you can't see the
camera, or if you are staring at the back of someone's
head, the camera can't see you. For the most authentic
look, have them look mean or tough, like you would see
on a movie poster. |
|
Rule #5:
Review, Review, Review!!! With digital cameras, you have
the option of constantly reviewing your photos. So take
advantage of this. Zoom in close when reviewing to make
sure you capture the most detail. |
|
